Pescia covers approximately 79 square km between Lucca and Florence exactly at the northeast limit of the plain of Lucca and the northwest border with Valdinievole, is crossed by the river Pescia. The city developed in two separate cores: the nucleus dedicated to public life and to trade on the right bank and the one used as a religious center on the left bank. Between the two over time have developed streets and alleys of connection.
